Fall Hunt Test = Fantastic Fun!

The MSHRC Fall Hunt Test was held on

September 28-29, 2002  at Twin Hill Ranch.  Despite the  monsoon two days prior, the grounds were in excellent shape and the weather seemed more reminiscent of the lazy days of summer rather than of fall hunt test weather.  Each event ran smoothly, thanks to volunteer teamwork and a very organized Hunt Test Committee led by Hunt Test Chairman, Ken Gilbert.  Charlie’s Concessions again was there to serve hungry participants, spectators, and yes, perhaps even a few hungry dogs.  Thanks, Charlie!

The open air barn was the site of the barbecue and raffle Saturday evening.  Thanks to A&A Catering for providing the traditional barbecue and catfish feast that we all associate with a MSHRC Hunt Test.  Once again, hats off to Rob Browne for procuring an endless selection of raffle items!  Those who successfully completed the day’s events were presented with qualifying ribbons for Junior and Senior stakes.  Master level handlers and dogs were able to cease biting their nails and claws as those who were to advance to the next round on Sunday were announced.  A moment was taken to remember friends and fellow club members Lew Dawson and Darryl  Disney.  Although they may no longer be with us physically, they remain with us forever in spirit.

Thanks to all volunteers and participants for   making this event a successful endeavor.  Special thanks to our judges for their time and dedication to our sport.  And last, but certainly not least, a very special thanks to Ed and Diane Newton and the Sparks for so graciously allowing us to hold our event on the ranch. Without you, this event would not have been possible!

Congratulations Qualifiers!
