TERRY SMITH RULES AND REGULATIONS |
The "Terry Smith" Memorial Hunt Test is a competitive club hunt test governed on the same basis as an AKC Hunt Test. The dogs are judged on the same standard as an AKC licensed hunt test, but there will be a ranking of scores with trophies given to the top three dogs in each stake. Ribbons will be given to all dogs with a passing score. Additionally, there is a special trophy the first place dog in Master and Senior Stakes. These trophies will be passed on each year to the first place Master and Senior dogs. |
The exception to the AKC rules are as follows: |
1. Professional handlers are welcome to run as many dogs as they like; however, only dogs handled by their owners will be considered for the competitive trophies. |
2. Dogs are welcome to run in more than one stake, but are only considered in contention for the trophies in the highest stake entered. |
EXAMPLE: A dog can run in both Juniors and Seniors, but will only be eligible for trophies in Seniors. |
3. Dogs who have not received a qualifying score in the next stake after titling may still be in contention for the trophies in the lower stake. |
| EXAMPLE: A dog has titled in Seniors but has not received a qualifying score in Masters. This dog may run in Seniors and be eligible for a trophy if not running in Masters. |
